AI and big data analytics for line-haul planning
Transmetrics will showcase its latest SaaS line-haul planning product powered by AI and big data analytics. The product is aimed at improving the operations of parcel, postal, courier and groupage companies by automating the short-term planning process and reducing costs across network, fleet, equipment and purchasing.
Transmetrics integrates on top of the organization's transportation management system/enterprise resource planning (TMS/ERP). It connects and improves the historical data, letting planning teams leverage a single version of the truth to learn from the past, manage the present and predict the future. Transmetrics offers several modules as part of the product, including performance and historical activity dashboards, demand forecasting, planning and simulation, and optimization.
Some clients have already achieved up to 96% forecasting accuracy in suggesting the purchase of a truck to service a line-haul on a given date, as well as up to 80% process automation; in just 20% of the cases, planners need to review the system suggestion and take a final decision. Among Transmetrics’ clients are global logistics companies such as Kuehne + Nagel, DPD, Matson, TIP Trailers and other LSPs.
